Palak Paneer is the most popular Indian dishes. Soft cottage cheese or Paneer in a mild spiced smooth spinach gravy. Palak Paneer is very smooth creamy dish made with fresh spinach leaves, paneer, onions, and very less spices.
This delicious Palak Paneer goes well with roti, naaan, paratha or tandoori roti. Even you can serve zeera rice or steamed rice too.

Preparation Time- 20 min.

Ingredients–
Palak or Spinach- one bunch
200-250 gram paneer or tofu
2-3 green chilli chopped
3-4 garlic cloves chopped
½ inch ginger
1 medium size onion
1tspn Garam masala
½ tspn turmeric powder
½ tspn red chilli powder
½ tspn cumin seeds
2 tbspn fresh cream
1 pinch hing
1-2 bay leaf
Salt to taste
2 tbspn oil or ghee or butter
Method-
For Palak puree-
Rinse the palak or spinach leaves very well in running water. Tender stem are good. If the stem is hard then remve it.
Boil 3 cups water in a pan and add Palak leave and cooked for one min.
After one min. Drain the palak and keep aside.
Immediately add the Palak in ice water for one min. this method keeps preserve green color of the spinach.
After one min drain the ice cold water, Add the spinach in a blender and make fine paste.
Take blender add ginger, garlic onion, and green chilli make a fine paste. ( You can use chopped ginger, garlic chilli and onion) I prefer always making paste.
How to make Palak Paneer-
Cut The paneer in cubes.
Heat oil or ghee or butter in kadahi. Add the cumin seeds let them splutter. Now add the bay leaf.
Add the making paste of onion-ginger-garlic and chiili paste or chopped all ingredients.
Stir the sauté paste till releasing from the sides of the mixture, then add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, hing and salt stir very well.
When once the masla become ready add palak puree and mix well. Stir well for 2-3 min.
Add ½ cup of water or as your required for gravy consistency.
Simmer gas for 5-6 min. Or more till the Palak is cooked.
Check the garavy thikness and add garam masala and stir well add Paneer cubes stir and cook for about one min.
In last add cream and off the flame. Now Palak Paneer is ready to serve.
I never use tomato in my Palak Paneer.
Note– I have made Palak tofu many times with tofu the Palak gravy taste is very delicious.
