Bread Dosa-
 
This is a quick and instant dosa made with bread that does not need any planning or preparation like soaking rice and dal, grinding, fermenting etc.etc. Just take ingredients and prepare delicious breakfast.

Cook Time – 20 mins
Servings – 3-4 persons
INGREDIENTS
 

White bread slices – 8-10

Bread Dosa

 

Semolina or rava – 1/2 cup
Rice flour – 2 teaspoons
Curd – 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
 
FOR SEASONING-
 
Oil – 2 tablespoons
Mustard seeds – 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin seeds (jeera) – 1/4 teaspoon
Green chillies – 2 (chopped finely)
Urad dal – 1/2 teaspoon

Chopped coriander leaves  – 2 tablespoons

FOR STUFFING-

2 Boiled and mashed potato
1/2 tespn jeera
1/2 tespn chopped green chilli
1/2 tespn ginger paste
1 tbspn chopped coriender leavs
1/2 spn amchoor powder
1 tespn oil

 

METHOD-
 
Take the bread slices and trim the edges of the bread.  Grind the bread slices to a fine powder.
 
Then add semolina, rice flour, curd, (Use slightly sour curd for better taste, as the batter is not fermented.) salt and water and grind to make a batter of dosa consistency. Adjust water accordingly and bring the batter to the dosa consistency Pour the batter in a clean bowl and check for the consistency.  Adjust water and salt accordingly.
 

Heat oil in a pan.  Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and allow it to crackles.  Add urad dal and saute till light brown. Add green chillies and chopped coriander leaves and sauté for half a minute.  Add this seasoning to the dosa batter and mix well. 

Heat a pan add jeera and crackle them, add green chill, ginger paste, green peas and saute for 1 min.

Now add mashed potato, amchoor powder and salt to taste and mix properly.

Saute for 2 min. after that add coriander leaves, saute for one min. and  off the flame and keep aside. 

 

Heat a tawa on a medium flame.  Pour a big spoonful of the batter and spread wide to a medium circle.  Pour oil drops on the top and sides of the dosa and cook for 2-3 minutes.  Now spread the potato on the dosa and fold the  dosa ad flip on the other side and cook till crisp and light brown. 
 

 

Serve bread dosa hot with coconut chutney and  sambhar or tomato kethup.
