This recipe is very tasty and healthy dish. The taste of Chura- Matar is very different from Poha recipe. This recipe is no need of onion and any spices. This is very easy to make recipe.

Chura- Matar is very delicious and healthy recipe which is very popular and made in many homes in Uttar Pradesh during the winters.

Serve Chura-Matar drizzled some lemon juice as an evening snack as well as Sunday breakfast with a cup of tea.



Preparation Time-5 min.

Cooking Time- 10 min.

Serving- 4 person





2 cup Poha

1 cup fresh green peas

4-5 green chilli finally chopped

1 tsp chopped ginger

2 tspn chopped green garlic or garlic cloves

1 tspn zeera

½ tspn turmeric powder

Salt to taste

2-3 tbspn coriander leaves

½ lemon juice


Take 2 cup poha washed and strain keep aside.

Take a pan heat oil and add zeera and let them crackle.

Now add chopped chilli, chopped green garlic and ginger sauté for seconds.

Then add 1 cup of green peas and mix well and sauté.

Add turmeric powder, salt and mix well.

Cover the pan with its lead and cook on medium flame till the peas are cooked.

In between you give a stir and checked peas are cooked or not, if not cooked sprinkle some water and continue to cook the peas. (but peas are fresh its cooked fast and no need to add water)

When peas are cooked then add poha or chura and mix well.

Very gently mix the poha with rest of the mixture.

In last add ½ tspn lemon juice and coriander leaves and mix well.

Now off  flame the and serve hot with a cup of tea.




-always fresh green peas is best in taste but if it is not available then you can used frozen green peas.

-If you want to add some cashew nut and raisin then first fry in oil and add before serve.

-You can serve in kids lunch box also.
