Ingredients:
Whole Hara Moong Dal – 1 Cup
Onion – 1 Large chopped
Tomato – 2 Medium chopped
Green Chilli – 2-3
Ginger-garlic paste
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – ½ tspn

Oil Or ghee – 1 tbsp

Method-
Wash and soak moong dal for minimum half an hour.
Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles with 1 cup of water and ¼ tspn of turmeric powder. Once pressure released mash cooked dal slightly.
Take a pan or wok heat and add oil, add hing, jeera and allow to splutter.
Add chopped onion whole lal mirch and sauté fro 2 min, and now add ginger-garlic paste and sauté till onion become translucent.
Add red chilli, powder, remaining turmeric powder and stir well.
Now Add chopped tomato, salt and stir well.
Add garam masala and mix well add cooked dal and stir well.
Add 1 or 1 ½ cup of water, and let it boil, simmer flame and cook for 2 minutes more.
Add more water if you prefer to have dal thin consistency.
Garnish with coriander leaves and add butter or desi ghee.
Serve hot with steamed rice.
