Matar Paneer is a very simple and easy recipe. This is a good choice for vegetarian and Paneer lovers. Matar Paneer is one of India’s most popular Paneer dish. Matar Paneer is goes well with naan, partha or zeera rice, even steamed rice also. This is a super delicious dish made by cottage cheese, green peas and spicye tomato gravy.

Serve- 4 person

Ingredients-

Paneer- 250 grams

Peas- ½ cup

Bay leaf

Onion -2 medium

Tomato- 2 small

Green Cardemom-2

Zerra- ½ tspn

Garlic cloves-3-4

Ginger- ½ tspn chopped

Casheunuts- 8-10

Red chilli powder- ½ tspn

Garam masla- 1 tspn

Haldi powder- ½ tspn

Kasoori methi- 1 tbspn

Cream- 2-3 tbspn

Coriander leaves chopped

Oil – 2 tbspn

Method-

Take pan or kadahi heat oil and add chopped onion, chopped tomato, cashew nut, cardamom, zeera, ginger, and garlic cloves and sauté for 2-3 min.

When all ingredients are cooked switch off the flame allow to cool.

Once a cool mixture add in a mixture and make a fine puree without water.

Add 2 tbspn of oil in a pan add bay leaf sauté for a second.

Pour the puree in oil and add red chilli powder  ½ tspn , haldi powder and garam masala and mix well.

Sauté until the masala leaves the side of pan. Keep stiring regulary to prevent to burn masala.

Now add ½ cup of green peas and sauté, add 2 tbspn of fresh cream or malai mix well for 1 min. Add Paneer cubes and saute.

 

Pour the 1cup of water in masala or more then one cup or as your required gravy.

Mix well to make thick gravy. Add more water if needed.

Mix and cook covered on a medium heat until the gravy thickness and traces of oil appear over the gravy.

Crush 1 tbspn of kasoori methi in your palm and sprinkle all over the Matar Paneer and mix.

Now Matar Paneer is ready garnish with coriander leave and serve.

Serve with naan, chapatti, paratha, zeera rice or steamed rice.
