Murmura Laddu | Murmure ke Laddu | Puffed Rice Laddu a traditional Indian sweet recipe made with puffed rice and melted jaggery syrup. It is a simple and easy dessert made with just 2 ingredients similar to the flax seeds laddu , or Till ke laddu and Pea nuts laddu. It is ideal sweet served during winters.

Puffed rice laddus are also known as seasonal laddu and is made specifically during winter season. It provides the necessary heat and moreover has a long shelf life making it ideal during winter season.

Cooking Time- 5-7 min

Serve- As sweets

Ingredients-

4 cup of murmura or puffed rice

1 tbspn desi ghee

2 cup gur or jaggery

  • Firstly, in a pan dry roast 4 cup murmura on low flame.

  • Dry roast until the murmura turns crisp. Keep aside.
  • Take a large kadai or pan heat add 2 cup of jiggery and ½ cup of water.

  • Keeping the flame on low stir continuously until the jaggery melts.
  • Stir on low flame, till it turns frothy. Add 1 tspn ghee.

  • Check the consistency, by dropping syrup into a bowl of water, it should form a soft ball. Else boil for another minute and check.
  • Turn off the flame and add dry roasted murmura and mix gently.

  • Mix until the mixture is well combined and jaggery syrup is coated well.

  • Grease your hand with ghee or wet your hand with water and prepare laddu when the mixture is still warm.

 

  • Now store in tight container and enjoy murmura laddu or puffed rice laddu for a month.

Note- Consistency of jiggery syrup is very important to prepare for perfact laddu.

If you are looking for slightly hard laddu then the jiggery syrup 1 min more.

You can add crushed peanuts or any dry fruits along with murmura.
