Onion Ring Veggie Chilla is an instant snack prepared from rings of onion. You can prepare it very little ingredients like onion rings, gram flour, vegetables, and some spices. You can serve it as an appetizer or as a starter.  You can add this snacks in your kitty party also. Its goes to well with tomato ketchup and green chutney. It is very easy to make in just 7-8 min. It is just a fusion of besan chilla with onion rings. We have added vegetables in the gram flour batter, hence It is a healthy as well as a yummy dish for everyone.  So, you must try to make this recipe in your kitchen.

Serve- 2 person


1 Big size onion

1 cup besan or gram flour

1 chopped tomato

1 tspn chopped ginger

2-3 chopped green chilli

2 tbspn coriander leaves

1 tspn chilli flakes

Salt to taste

2 tspn Oil

Method –

  • Take onion. Peel it and slice it in the middle. Take out the ring shape layer of the onion. Keep it aside.


  • Take gram flour in a bowl. Add onion, green chilli, tomato and, coriander leaves, salt, turmeric powder, and Mix well.

  • Then add water gradually and prepare a medium thick consistency batter.

  • Heat a tawa. Add oil to it for shallow frying. Arrange onion rings on the tawa. Pour its middle open part with the prepared besan or gram flour batter.

  • Cover the pan with a lid and cook it for 2 minutes on a medium flame.

  • Flip it to cook the other side as well. Once it is cooked on both sides, transfer it to a serving plate.

  • ‘Onion Ring Veggie Chilla’ is ready to be served.
  • Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney.
