Shalgam or turnip is one of the most loved winter root vegetables. There are different ways we like to consume shalgam or turnip during the winter season. If you are hunting shalgam recipes, then these shalgam parathas are a must-try.

You can add this paratha in lunch box of your kids.

Shalgam parathas taste delicious and are wholesome, just perfect for breakfast. They can be relished as is, with raita or pickle.

Ingredients-

 

2 Cup Whole Wheat Flour

Salt to taste

2-3 Grated Shalgam

1 Tsp ajwain Seeds

1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder

1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder

1 Tsp Coriander Powder

1 Tsp Grated Ginger

Coriander leaves

Oil for roasting paratha

 

Method-

Take turnip wash peel and grate with the help of grater.

Sqeeze water of grated shalgam and keep water aside.

Heat pan add 1 tspn oil, ajwain, chopped green chilli, ginger and saute a min.

Now add grated shalgam mix well with all ingredients.

Now add ½ tsp. red chili powder, ¼ turmeric powder, salt to taste and cook 2 min or mixture until dry.

Switch off flame and let it mixture cool.

Now take 2 cup of wheat flour add prepared turnip mixture and chopped dhaniya patti and add remaining water of turnip mix well.

Knead dough with the help of turnip water keep aside for 10 min,

Take out a small portion from the dough and roll into the shape of a paratha.

You can make any type of shape I make square paratha.

Heat tawa, and place the turnip  paratha.

Cook on both the sides till the paratha turns golden and crisp.

Serve hot turnip parathas with curd or pickle.
